The Lee County Hyacinth Control District (LCHCD) is a local government agency for management of nuisance aquatic vegetation in waterways of Lee County, including the Caloosahatchee River and it’s tributaries as far upstream as Lake Okeechobee.

Meeting Calendar:  The members of the Board of Commissioners for the Lee County Mosquito Control District serve as the Board for the Lee County Hyacinth Control District.  Lee County Hyacinth Control District Board meetings are held in conjunction with the Lee County Mosquito Control District Board meetings at the same time and place as the Lee County Mosquito Control District Meetings.  For meeting schedules follow this link: http://www.lcmcd.org/events/

Lee County Hyacinth Control District held an advertised public hearing to adopt a final millage rate and a final budget on September 27, 2018 at District headquarters, 15191 Homestead Road, Lehigh Acres, Florida 33971 in accordance with the provisions of Florida Statute, Chapter 200.065.

Florida Statute, Chapter 200.065(2) (a) 4c requires the governing body of each taxing authority to hold a public hearing on the final budget and proposed millage rate.

The Lee County Hyacinth Control District adopted millage rate is to be levied at .0239 mills. A resolution for adoption of a final millage rate of .0239 mills for fiscal year 2018-2019, commencing on October 1, 2018 and ending on September 30, 2019 was approved by the Lee County Hyacinth Control District Board of Commissioners.  The Board of Commissioners adopted the final Budget for the 2018-2019 fiscal year in the amount of $3,473,040 commencing on October 1, 2018 and ending on September 30, 2019.

The LCHCD Board of Commissioners approved a millage rate of 0.0239 mills. This is $.0239 per $1000 of value. A homeowner would pay $2.39 for a home valued at $100,000 by the property appraiser. For the adopted budget, click on 2019 LCHCD FINAL Budget
